Steel Panther drummer Stix Zadinia and Stryper frontman Michael Sweet have bravely waded into the most vicious grandma fight of the year: the online feud between former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho.
For those who don’t recall, the spat began after some random dude with 122 followers on Twitter made an unfavorable physical comparison between Bach and Jericho. Bach then accused Chris Jericho of lip syncing. Jericho refuted the claim, and even posted a video of himself singing “Youth Gone Wild” to demonstrate the quality of his pipes. The Baz harassed Jericho with a bunch of text messages (which Jericho either ignored or never received) and gloated about it.
Which brings us to Stix and Sweet. The latter musician piped in first, taking to social media to say that Jericho “doesn’t have anything to prove as a singer” and recalling a “sing off” the two had at Sweet’s 2010 wedding:
“You know it’s funny, @chrisjerichofozzy doesn’t have anything to prove as a singer, a wrestler or a person. He’s achieved success and made quite the name for himself. He’s about as active as anyone I know and is also a great guy with a big heart. He’s also my friend. @stryper had him up on stage to perform with us at @hobanaheim and I was honored to have him sing on one of my solo songs a few years back as well. My point? Chris is a very talented individual and a grounded human being. He doesn’t need validation from anyone. He’s made his mark and will continue to do so. He was at my wedding in 2010 and we had our own ‘sing off’ on the dance floor to the @bonjovi classic, ‘Living On A Prayer’ – Remember this Chris? Good times👊 Anyway, I just wanted to say that Chris is the man, and a good one at that👍 Love ya buddy💛🖤”
Zadinia then shared the above and seconded Sweet’s sentiments:
“I’m with this. Jericho is a Fucking rock star and one of the coolest motherfuckers in this business.”
As of this writing, Baz hasn’t responded; nor have any metal celebs gotten his back the way Stix and Sweet did for Jericho.
Jericho 2, Baz 0.
